What we are doing

Delivering the NZ Taxonomy

In December 2026, the NZ Taxonomy criteria for the agriculture, forestry, energy, and construction and buildings sectors will be published and submitted to the Minister of Climate Change for consideration for Ministerial endorsement.

Producing market guidance and sharing insights

The focus of our guidance and insights this year is looking at market gaps and opportunities for financing adaptation and resilience, and supporting use of the NZ Taxonomy.

Developing a sustainable finance ecosystem blueprint

We are working across the financial system to answer the question ‘where to from here for sustainable finance?’

  1. Submit NZ Taxonomy criteria to Government for Ministerial endorsement
  2. Develop private sector implementation roadmap

Market Guidance

  1. Develop guidance to support uptake of the NZ Taxonomy
  2. Publish and share Market Gaps & Solutions Report for adaptation and resilience financing 

Sustainable Finance Ecosystem

  1. Develop a blueprint for enduring sustainable finance ecosystem for 2030 and beyond
