Insights and recommendations regarding the funding and financing aspects of the Climate Change Commission’s Emissions Reduction Monitoring Report

The Climate Change Commission’s Annual Emissions Reduction Monitoring Report serves as an independent assessment of New Zealand’s progress toward its legally mandated emissions budgets and the 2050 net-zero target, as established under the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act 2019. These reports evaluate current emissions data and future trends and assess the effectiveness of government policies in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Centre for Sustainable Finance is an independently governed charitable trust, founded in 2021, which works with partners across the finance system to enable and accelerate capital flows towards sustainability and resilience outcomes across key sectors of New Zealand’s economy.

The Centre has made submissions to the Government on both Emissions Reduction Plan 1 and 2, with a focus on key enablers for financing emissions reductions, in line with the objectives of each of those plans.

The Commission’s monitoring reports, and especially the matters related to funding and financing the transition to a low emissions economy, are of particular importance to our partners, who are major financial institutions, as well as the New Zealand Government.

This webinar provides a high-level briefing aimed at senior executives, followed by a detailed briefing for sustainability and sustainable finance practitioners and technical experts.
