The Centre for Sustainable Finance (CSF) will participate in London Climate Action Week, 20 – 28 June 2026, to advance implementation and strengthen international collaboration on New Zealand’s sustainable finance taxonomy and climate adaptation and resilience financing.
As extreme weather and climate impacts intensify, the focus is shifting from mitigation alone to the parallel challenge of adaptation and building resilience. This is reflected in London Climate Action Week, where resilience is a central theme and a growing priority for global capital markets.
CSF’s participation is anchored in three objectives.
- Advance understanding of resilience finance.
Through engagement at the Resilience Finance Summit, CSF will examine how leading institutions are addressing barriers in what remains a relatively nascent segment of the market. This includes practical insights into structuring, risk allocation, and capital mobilisation for adaptation-focused investments. - Engage with global peers on emerging financial solutions.
Different jurisdictions are developing varied approaches to adaptation and resilience finance, shaped by local climate exposures, regulatory settings, and market maturity. CSF will engage with international counterparts to understand these models and assess their relevance to New Zealand’s context. - Strengthen international partnerships.
Building and deepening relationships with global finance and policy leaders is critical to ensuring New Zealand remains connected to leading-edge thinking. These partnerships support the ongoing import of knowledge and best practice, both to inform domestic market participants and to underpin robust policy advice.
Participating in London Climate Action Week reflects CSF’s ongoing commitment to ensure that the development of New Zealand’s sustainable finance framework, including its taxonomy, is informed by real-world experience and aligned with international progress.
